Frequently asked questions

  • What is preventive maintenance?
Regular and routine maintenance of equipment and assets in order to keep them running and prevent any costly unplanned downtime from unexpected equipment failure.
  • Do HVAC systems require maintenance?
Yes! Heating and air conditioning equipment should have a maintenance schedule at least twice a year. Maintenance can help extend their longevity and keep them running smoothly for even longer. Without proper maintenance on a HVAC system can cause significant energy waste.
  • What equipment requires preventive maintenance?
We recommend scheduling a tune-up for the central heating and cooling system. Inspections on boiler and furnace systems should include duct work, pipes, dampers, valves, the chimney, registers, radiators, pumps, blower fuel lines, the gas meter, oil tank and every part of actual furnace and boiler. Heat pump and air conditioning unit inspections should also include inspections of the fan, compressor, indoor coils, outdoor coils, and refrigerant lines.
  • How often should I change my air filters?
For basic 1"-3" air filters, manufacturers typically tell you to replace them every 30-60 days. If you suffer from light to moderate allergies, you could install a better air filter or replace them even more regularly.
  • Should I be concerned about my indoor air quality?
Yes! Air pollutants can be nearly 100 times worse in a building than outdoors. With nearly 90% off your time spent indoors it is important to invest in a healthy home.
  • Are all HVAC filters the same?
No! All filters differ in quality and dimensions. We always recommend using the favored filter from your HVAC manufacturer paired with your existing system.
